Electricity: The Bahamas Electricity Corporation provides 120V AC 60Hz power throughout the Bahamas.

The Bahamas has an excellent telephone network with direct dialling worldwide and mobile telephone service operates throughout the islands

Television: ZNS is the Bahamas national television station which is transmitted throughout most of the islands, and Bahamas Cable provides a network of cable TV. The reception of satellite television is excellent.
Gas:
Propane and Butane bottled gas is widely available.
Water & Sewage: Water is obtained from either a private well, public water supply where available, or water catchment tanks. Sewage is normally via a sceptic tank system which prove to be very efficient.
Public Holidays: The Bahamas has 8 public holidays which, if they fall at a weekend are usually observed on the previous Friday or the following Monday. They are: New Years Day, Good Friday, Whit Monday, Labour Day (1st Friday in June), Independence Day (10th July), Emancipation Day (1st Monday in August), Christmas Day, Boxing Day.
Location and Communications: The Bahamas has good communications with the American mainland and the UK. There are direct flights from London to Nassau, as well as to Miami. There are daily flights direct from Miami to the Bahamas. Time difference is 5 hours behind Greenwich Meantime
